Editorial policy
Honest Sports Culture aims to publish clear, fair-minded work about sport and its culture. Accuracy matters more than a sharp line or an easy verdict.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against suitable sources and take care with dates, definitions and context. Where a subject is disputed or uncertain, we say so rather than smoothing over the disagreement. We do not claim research or access we have not carried out.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to deliver a preferred outcome for a partner or contributor. We do not promise favourable coverage in return for money, access or other benefits. Opinions are presented as opinions, and factual claims are treated with appropriate care.
Corrections
If a published piece contains an error, readers can contact us with the article title, the passage in question and any relevant context. We review correction requests and, when a change is warranted, update the wording and make the correction clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid collaborations and partner placements are identified clearly so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial work. A commercial relationship does not buy editorial approval. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when they are, the image is labelled accordingly.
Honesty is part of the game.
We think sport is worth taking seriously without treating it as beyond question. Clear language and fair-minded scrutiny make room for a richer conversation.
